Financial Counselor

1 – Full-Time

Successful candidate must have solid experience & advanced knowledge of:

• Two years of Medical office and/or insurance experience preferred.

• Medical Practice Management System experience preferred.

• Advanced computer and data entry skills.

• Knowledgeable in medical terminology.

• Prior collection experience preferred.

• Strong communication skills.

• Bilingual Spanish preferred. 

  Successful candidate must be able to perform primary functions of position:

• Provide enrollment assistance for uninsured children and adult patients/residents of the service area to access subsidized, low cost, and free health insurance programs through the health insurance marketplace and Medicaid.

• Provide structured patient education on health insurance coverage, engage in follow up conversations, and offer renewal assistance for enrolled individuals.

• Attend and successfully complete all required training programs, including off-site conferences, webinars, conference calls, and other professional development opportunities.

• Access Practice Management System to provide financial information to patients on current and past charges.

• Reconcile all charges/deposits and adjustments to the daily deposit.

• Review and update financial information for new and established patients for slide discount.

• These functions are not all inclusive.
