Dock Coordinator II North Warehouse

Palmer Candy is looking for a Dock Coordinator Level II at our North Warehouse location. Hours for this position are 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday Thursday, with overtime hours scheduled frequently on Friday and Saturday as needed.

The Dock Coordinator II North Warehouse is responsible for all operations at our North Warehouse facility. This includes receiving and unloading trucks from outside suppliers and internal inventory transfers, put-aways and stock arrangements, order picking and verification, pallet tagging, and loading both customer shipments and internal inventory transfers. A Dock Coordinator II is expected to be adaptable, responsive to operational needs, and able to contribute to the overall efficiency of warehousing operations.

• Operate forklift and electric/manual pallet jack
• Coordinate workload to ensure that all activities are completed in a timely manner
• Safely load and unload products from trailers
• Arrange stock in the warehouse
• Accurately and efficiently pick inventory to customer orders verify that the correct product is in the bin, scan bar coded boxes with hand-held RF scanner, pick correct number of cases to the order, and inspect products for defects and/or damage
• Shrink-wrap finished pallets using a wrapping machine and stage orders in the warehouse
• Ensure proper code date / lot code rotation using FEFO
• Create pallet identification labels as required by customers
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Perform simple maintenance and housekeeping tasks
• Check equipment to ensure health and safety requirements are met
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Proficient with PC systems and software applications
• Ability to read and understand product labels, lot codes, packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping and receiving documents
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively across all functions within the plant and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels
• Ability to work overtime as needed and as required
• Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma/GED required
• 5+ years for forklift experience
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for movement between warehouse locations in Sioux City
• WMS and scanner experience required
• Experience working with food products and familiarity with lot codes and expiration dates, FEFO rotation, etc.

Physical Requirements:

• Warehouse environment
• Lift 5 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 50 pounds occasionally.
• Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
• Must be able to go up and down stairs and walk to other departments in the manufacturing facility.
• Repetitive motion and fast paced movement.
• Work may require bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching.
• Temperatures of warehouse may vary.
