Maintenance LeadJob SummaryThe Maintenance Lead serves as the plant's senior hands‑on maintenance resource and primary technical lead for daily maintenance execution. This role provides direction, coordination, and expertise to maintenance activities while remaining actively engaged in hands‑on work. The Maintenance Lead supports equipment reliability, preventive maintenance execution, parts availability, and safe work practices.This position is a lead role without direct supervisory authority. The Maintenance Lead does not conduct hiring, firing, performance reviews, or discipline, but is expected to influence outcomes through technical leadership, coordination, and example.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate daily maintenance activities to support production uptime and plant reliability.Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems.Serve as a technical resource and mentor for Maintenance Technicians.Support execution and continuous improvement of the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.Coordinate maintenance priorities with Operations and Maintenance leadership.Ensure maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and safety requirements.Accurately document work orders, repairs, and PM activities.Parts Room & Planning ResponsibilitiesManage maintenance parts room organization, inventory accuracy, and housekeeping.Coordinate ordering, receiving, and stocking of maintenance parts and supplies.Maintain minimum and critical spare inventories to support equipment reliability.Support maintenance planning by ensuring parts availability for scheduled work.Communicate parts usage, shortages, and improvement opportunities to Maintenance leadership.Food Safety, GMP & Compliance ResponsibilitiesEnsure maintenance activities do not compromise food safety, quality, or regulatory compliance.Follow all GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety requirements related to maintenance work.Identify and report food safety or quality risks related to equipment condition or maintenance practices.Leadership & Behavioral ExpectationsServe as the plant-level maintenance lead, setting expectations through technical expertise, professionalism, and accountability.Model the ANP Ways by demonstrating integrity, respect, ownership, and a commitment to doing work the right way, every time.Influence safe behavior, teamwork, and continuous improvement through daily actions, decisions, and communication.Support a strong food safety culture through consistent leadership by example.QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED.Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.PreferredPrior experience in food manufacturing or other regulated manufacturing environments.Trade school or technical training.Specialty training or certifications (electrical, automation, boiler systems, refrigeration, welding, etc.).Physical & Work EnvironmentManufacturing and plant environment with exposure to noise, temperature variation, moving equipment, chemicals, and heights.Ability to lift up to 100 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.Will require on‑call or off‑shift work to support operations.Reporting RelationshipReports to: Site Leadership, as designatedPosition TypeFull-Time | HourlyDisclaimerThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or qualifications.
