Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Employment Attorney to join their legal team in Sioux City, Iowa. This role involves advising and representing clients on a wide range of employment and labor matters, including discrimination, compliance, union relations, and employee policy development.

Duties
  • Assist clients with internal investigations of employment complaints and respond to EEOC charges.
  • Provide legal counsel on labor matters, including collective bargaining and grievance proceedings.
  • Develop and implement employee handbooks, HR policies, and training materials.
  • Advise on termination processes and executive separations.
  • Draft and negotiate executive separation packages and exit agreements.
  • Partner with clients on resolving employee relations issues.
  • Provide guidance on leave and accommodation issues under ADA and FMLA.
  • Collaborate with litigation teams in employment‑law disputes.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of employment‑law experience.
  • Experience with EEOC, ADA, and union matters preferred.
  • Litigation experience is a plus.
Education
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
  • Active license to practice law.
Skills
  • Ability to draft and interpret employment policies and agreements.
