Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains is looking for a Licensing Program Director to lead our licensed programs in Vermillion, SD.PERKSHiring Bonus: Paid immediately upon hire.6‑Month Bonus: Retention reward at 6 months.12‑Month Bonus: Retention reward at 12 months.Discounted Childcare: For employee children ages 5+ in BGCV programs.RESPONSIBILITIESLead & Inspire Your Team: Recruit, hire, train, and coach program staff. Run staff meetings, provide real‑time feedback, and support professional growth.Run Great Programs: Oversee daily operations of licensed Club programs and plan special events each semester that align with BGCA priority outcomes.Stay Compliant & Organized: Maintain full compliance with South Dakota Child Care Licensing, BGCA standards, and BGCNP policies. Coordinate inspections and keep documentation accurate.Connect with Families: Be the primary point of contact, build trust through clear communication, and support kids' social‑emotional growth.Manage Budgets & Grants: Oversee program budgets, responsible purchasing, implement and track grant‑funded programs, and meet all reporting requirements.Keep It Safe & Clean: Maintain a clean, attractive, and safe environment for kids, staff, and families daily.OPERATING HOURSMonday – Friday, year‑round.Summer: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PMSchool Year: 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM and after school until 6:00 PMThe Licensing Program Director is not expected to work all hours of program operation. The schedule will focus on lead‑effective hours, with staff covering the full span of operation. Occasional evenings or weekends may be needed for special events, trainings, or family engagement activities.QUALIFICATIONSTo meet South Dakota Child Care Licensing qualifications as a Program Administrator, you must meet at least one of the following:• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Human Development.• Two‑year degree in Early Childhood Education.• Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a similar recognized credential (we provide financial support for obtaining a CDA).• Certification in a specific child‑learning philosophy (e.g., Montessori) plus at least one year of experience in a licensed childcare setting.• Child Development Technician diploma.• Four years of verifiable experience in a licensed childcare center or school‑age childcare program.Physical Requirements: Must have the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, and parents to ensure safety, provide guidance, and reflect on Club priority outcomes.Ability to stand or sit for long periods during a shift.Ability to operate general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.This position is a safety‑sensitive role.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSExperience working with youth ages birth through 5th grade.Management and supervisory experience – proven ability to lead a team.Understanding of behavior management and youth development best practices.Strong communication skills with families, staff, and community partners.Experience with state childcare licensing is a big plus.EEO STATEMENTBoys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug‑Free Workplace.
