This position is responsible for assisting the banks' lending and operations areas, and their customers, based on a thorough understanding of Commercial and Agricultural loans. The Loan Assistant is responsible for assisting Loan Officers with loan workflow management, ensuring timelines are met and adjusted appropriately. They assist and coordinate with internal and external parties involved in the loan process to gather information and ensure all pre-close steps and documents have been obtained and completed.
On-site position, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Provides customer service to all internal and external customers.
Handle communication by phone, email, and in person with employees, loan customers, businesses, and vendors related to the loan process.
Review, articulate, and understand multiple variables to request proper loan documentation.
Maintains physical and electronic customer files.
Functions as a point of contact for other internal departments during the loan process.
Is a system expert and point of contact for the bank's workflow management system, and is able to understand and navigate the bank's core system.
Responsible for identifying and communicating workflow system inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
Enters customer information into the bank's loan workflow system with specific attention to data integrity.
Review loan approvals and address all closing conditions.
Maintain loan file compliance while managing one's pipeline across varying levels of volume.
Responsible for loan-level tasks, including but not limited to: Lien searches, title opinions, title commitments and policies, pulling credit bureaus, ordering flood determinations, verifying taxes are current, pulling UCC searches, verifying the Secretary of State website, and requesting and obtaining evidence of appropriate insurance coverage for each loan according to established procedure/policy
Reviews the closed loan package to ensure all documentation is collected and executed. Checking documentation for proper vesting, legal descriptions, payment information, rate accuracy, etc.
Review daily reports and work with the necessary team members to resolve issues or concerns.
Verify and mail loan notices.
Monitors missing and expired loan documentation in imaging software and reports findings to the appropriate loan officer(s). Assists in clearing items.
Monitors missing and recurring documentation in the document imaging system and reports back to the loan officer(s). Assists in clearing items.
Updates financial ticklers and uploads documentation to the proper tracking system.
Attend weekly market loan meetings.
Provides backup support for other loan assistants during time off and other high-volume periods.
Tracks and submits third-party invoices and payments for fees incurred during the loan process.
Collaborates with and provides guidance and training to other loan assistants in support of the manager.
Performs a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 1-3 years in a banking or lending environment preferred.
