Palmer Candy is looking for a day shift Forklift Team Member in our Warehouse at our Hwy 75 location.

Hours are 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday Thursday, with overtime hours scheduled frequently during busy season on Friday and Saturday.

Job Title: Dock Forklift Operator

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Job Summary:

This position will work with a team of forklift operators in receiving, shipping, and general warehouse organizational tasks.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift and electric/manual pallet jack
• Safely load and unload products from trailers
• Scan receiving and shipping orders into WMS system using an RF scanner
• Assist in the arrangement of stock in the warehouse and delivery of items to appropriate departments and/or locations
• Check equipment to ensure health and safety regulations are met
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Perform simple maintenance and housekeeping tasks
• Regular and timely attendance is required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively across all functions within the plant and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels
• Ability to work overtime as needed or required
• Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct
• Ability to verbally communicate proficiently in English to effectively engage with internal teams. Must be proficient in reading and understanding English-language manuals, equipment, instructions, and other documents relevant to the role.

Education and experience:

• 5+ years forklift experience preferred
• WMS and scanner experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with push-back racking preferred
• Experience working with food products and familiarity with lot codes and expiration dates, FIFO rotation, etc.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 55 pounds occasionally and 5 30 pounds frequently.
• Sitting/standing for long periods of time with the ability to quickly move on and off a forklift
• Repetitive motion and fast paced movement
• Continual use of hands and feet to handle, control or feel objects/gears
• Continual lifting or carrying
• Continual jarring movements from the loading and unloading of trailers
• Possible exposure to minor burns or cuts
• Temperatures of warehouse may vary
