Job Position: Meat Cutter

Location: Sioux City, IA 51103

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Shift: 9am to 6pm Meat Cutter

Description: Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Meat Cutter to join our team. This role is responsible for transforming large wholesale portionsof beef, pork, and other meats into smaller, market-ready cuts for retail or distribution. The ideal candidate will demonstrate precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to food safety standards while working in a cold environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cut, debone, trim, and shape meat into steaks, chops, roasts, and other portions

Prepare specialty products such as ground meats and sausages

Operate equipment including knives, band saws, and grinders safely and efficiently

Accurately weigh, package, label, and price products for sale or distribution

Inspect and unload incoming shipments, ensuring quality and accuracy

Organize and maintain inventory in coolers and freezers

Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace in compliance with all health and safety regulations

Assist customers with custom cuts and provide product recommendations as needed

Qualifications:

Prior meat cutting or butchery experience preferred

Proficiency with meat cutting tools and equipment

Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper meat storage practices

Ability to work in temperatures between 30°F and 50°F

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks

Ability to frequently lift up to 100 pounds

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Work Environment:

Cold environment (30°F-50°F)

Fast-paced, physically demanding setting

Requires adherence to strict safety and sanitation standards
