A school district in Le Mars, IA, is seeking a skilled School Psychologist to support student mental health and learning needs. This role involves working closely with educators, parents, and administrators to provide psychological services that enhance educational outcomes and promote student well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments, evaluations, and testing to identify students' strengths and challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to develop intervention plans and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed
- Offer training and consultation to school staff on mental health, behavior management, and special education processes
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to ensure effective support
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulations
- Travel between multiple school sites within the district as required
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field
- Certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in Iowa
- Experience in administering and interpreting psychological assessments in school settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, mental health counseling, and behavioral interventions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school personnel
- Ability to manage multiple cases and maintain professional confidentiality
