Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and experienced Class A CDL Delivery Driver to handle local routes from our distribution center. This role guarantees daily home time, competitive hourly pay, and an extensive benefits package. As this is a safety-sensitive position, drivers will operate flatbed trucks and curtain-side trailers to deliver products efficiently to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Commit to a safe working environment by understanding and adhering to all safety procedures.
- Operate semi-trucks and non-CDL vehicles in compliance with state and federal transportation laws.
- Safely transport loads over assigned routes within established timeframes, obeying all traffic and safety regulations.
- Easily maneuver trucks and trailers into loading/unloading areas while following crew signals.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods, utilizing specialized equipment as necessary.
- Keep accurate records of invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork, submitting it electronically or directly.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers for compliance and safety.
- Verify that the materials loaded for delivery match shipping documents and are in excellent condition.
- Secure materials safely in the truck to prevent damage during transit, using appropriate securing techniques.
- Maintain proper weight distribution of materials to comply with DOT regulations.
- Ensure electronic logbook and trip reports are up-to-date and in line with DOT requirements.
- Report any delivery issues to the branch promptly.
- Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements: Experience and Education
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Meet all DOT qualification standards, including drug screening and medical card compliance.
- An acceptable driving record with no major violations within the past 3 years.
- A minimum of 3 years of driving experience in a similar role within the last 5 years.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Employment contingent upon passing a DOT drug and alcohol test, motor vehicle record check, and background screening per legal requirements and company policy.
