Key Skills

  • Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) for EMS
  • Power System Applications:
    • Power Flow
    • State Estimator
    • Contingency Analysis
    • Load Forecasting / Load Frequency Control (AGC)
  • EMS / ADMS / SCADA enhancements and defect resolution
  • Experience with Client PowerOn Reliance (XA21), AEMS, or equivalent EMS platforms (Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, etc.)
  • Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Programming/Scripting: C, C++, PERL, Shell scripting, SQL
  • Communication Protocols: ICCP, IEC, DNP3, Modbus
  • Data Modeling (XML/JSON)
Must-Have Technical & Functional Skills
  • Administer and optimize Energy Management Systems (EMS), including configuration, tuning, and security patching.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Client PowerOn Reliance (XA21) and/or AEMS Platform Software, or equivalent EMS platforms.
  • Experience working within simulated environments, including:
    • Simulated RTUs
    • Simulated IEDs
    • Console ICCP
    • IEC, DNP3, and Modbus protocols
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Power System Applications, including:
    • Power Flow
    • State Estimator
    • Contingency Analysis
    • Load Frequency Control (AGC)
    • Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS)
  • Expertise in model validation and event creation.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills for system integration (C, C++, PERL, Shell scripting, SQL).
  • Ability to analyze logs, interpret debug files, and troubleshoot system issues effectively.
  • Experience deploying fixes and patches in live production environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Perform model validation and resolve defects within the DTS system.
  • Execute corrective technical actions to restore failed or degraded EMS services.
  • Conduct code reviews, testing, deployment, and monitoring of break/fix patches and system enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EMS-related incidents within mission-critical production environments.
Preferred Managerial & Communication Skills
  • Ability to lead client-facing technical discussions and system reviews.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
