Job Description:
As an Oracle Developer, you will support a modernization initiative focused on migrating legacy Oracle Forms applications to Oracle APEX on Oracle Database 19c. You will analyze existing architectures, convert legacy components, enhance system performance and security, and ensure alignment with modern Oracle development standards. This role requires strong Oracle PL/SQL expertise, APEX development experience, and the ability to collaborate across all phases of the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and understand the architecture, data structures, and integration points of existing Oracle Forms applications.
• Support the migration and conversion of legacy Oracle Forms applications to Oracle APEX.
• Design and develop APEX user interfaces in collaboration with technical leaders.
• Assist in establishing UI/UX standards for future APEX applications.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, and advanced SQL queries.
• Perform data extraction, analysis, and scripting activities to support reporting and system enhancements.
• Review documentation to understand system requirements, architecture, and reporting functionality.
• Implement and support application security including roles, permissions, and authorization models.
• Conduct system performance profiling and tuning to improve responsiveness and maintainability.
• Create technical documentation, business functional documentation, and system documentation.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle including requirements, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to internal IT staff and development teams.
• Assist with production deployments and release management activities.
• Provide weekly project status updates to leadership.
• Generate reports for executives, end users, and technical teams.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience developing Oracle PL/SQL including stored procedures, functions, packages, and advanced queries.
• 5-7 years of experience developing applications using Oracle APEX.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS (Oracle 19c preferred).
• Strong experience using SQL Developer or TOAD.
• Understanding of data modeling principles.
• Experience integrating web services.
• Experience with performance tuning, debugging, and testing SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience modernizing legacy Oracle Forms applications.
• Experience with XML, HTML, web services, Java, PL/SQL APIs, and SOA architecture.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
• Experience supporting regulatory or mission-critical systems.
• Ability to produce clear technical and functional documentation.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
