Job Title: R&D Data Analyst
The GI R&D Data Analyst will support digital initiatives and data visualization efforts that drive innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the business.
The ideal candidate excels in data analytics and visualization, is highly organized, and communicates complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences. They are creative, collaborative, and adept at managing multiple projects and stakeholder relationships. Over time, they will become a subject matter expert, delivering accurate, actionable insights to enhance processes and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying and validating data sources to support R&D and business initiatives.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations that highlight trends, relationships, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to access and prepare data using tools such as Tableau, Excel, and Business Objects.
- Use Excel and other tools to combine and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Support the customization and integration of enterprise tools such as Navigator into R&D workflows.
- Provide training and documentation to help R&D staff understand and use data visualization tools effectively.
- Generate reports and summaries using tools such as Business Objects, Product Vision, Oracle, and Snowflake.
- Identify and communicate data quality issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
- Contribute to process and product improvement efforts by analyzing data and identifying trends or inefficiencies.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest and foundational experience in data analytics and visualization, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data cleaning
• Hands-on experience with Tableau is required, with the ability to build and maintain dashboards; familiarity with SQL and Business Objects is preferred.

Mandatory Skills:

Physical Requirements: The physical requirements for this office role include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, typically up to 8 hours a day, and regularly operate standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Employees should be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally and frequently perform tasks that require typing, writing, and document handling. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with adequate visual and auditory abilities to read materials and participate in meetings.
