This position involves the maintenance and operation of conveyor, screening and crushing equipment, and the operation of a front-end loader, for the purpose of loading aggregate materials./ppKey Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)/pulliOperate a straight or articulated rubber-tire tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage/aggregate piles or bins to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes./liliOperate a loader and other equipment under minimum supervision performing duties independently with only general direction given./liliPerform necessary pre and post shift inspections verifying the equipment is in safe working order./liliPerforms routine maintenance on loader, such as adding air to tires, lubricating, fueling, and cleaning./liliLoad haul trucks, load customer trucks, feed portable plant, stockpile and load bins./liliComplete Equipment Inspection Report/Checklist as necessary and report any necessary repairs to supervisor as needed./liliPerform all work in a safe manner always complying with all plant policies./liliCreate and maintain inclines and ramps to excavated materials./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpQualifications/ppTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily./ppEducation/Experience/pulliHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED) required./liliSix months to one year of experience as a loader operator or similar role./liliExperience running other heavy equipment preferred./li/ulpWork Requirements/pulliMust be 18 years in age or older./liliMust pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check./liliStrict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook./liliMust maintain current drivers license that meets state requirements./liliMust be willing to travel and work away from home when required./liliMust be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary./liliCompliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations./liliWillingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required./li/ulpKnowledge/Skill Requirements/pulliKnowledge in operating heavy equipment./liliKnowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction./liliKnowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations and construction sites./liliKnowledge of trenching and shoring standards./liliAbility to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions./liliAbility to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations to keep time and material records./liliAbility to understand and follow verbal and written instructions./liliAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing./liliAbility to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgment./li/ulpPhysical Requirements/pulliAble to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear./liliMay require sitting for extended periods of time./liliVision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus./liliAble to climb ladders and to work at heights./liliAble to work in all weather conditions./liliMust be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects, 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally./li/ulpWork Environment/pulliWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
