Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.Physical RequirementsStand or Sit(Stationary position), Walk(Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl(Position self(to), Move), Talk/hear(Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching, Repetitive MotionFunction in the JobMedium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Job Function* Responsible for operating and managing industrial forklifts to load and unload materials and deliveries.* Obtain copy of production schedule or shipping.* Moving goods packed on pallets around the storage facility.* Checking loads are secure.* Stacking empty pallets.* Performing daily equipment checks.* Use scanner to locate material.* Adhere to all safety rules/standards.* Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.* Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.Required Skills* 0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.* High School diploma/GED preferred.* Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.* Must be able to obtain a certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.* Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting required.* Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.* Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.* Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.* Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.* Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.* Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.* Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.
