SUMMARY:

The Program Assistant works closely with the Social Work Program Chair. The individual is responsible for executing administrative tasks; assisting with collection of information, data entry, and generation of reports in accordance with accreditation, admissions, and University requirements; overseeing the planning and coordination of Program events; and marketing the Program to prospective students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • assists the Program Director with daily administrative tasks;
  • maintains student and graduate records;
  • assists with collection of information, data entry, and generation of reports in accordance with accreditation, admissions, and University requirements;
  • oversees the planning and coordination of Program events;
  • markets the Program to prospective students;
  • orders equipment and supplies for the Program and faculty;
  • and other program duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • One -three years of professional experience in office management;
  • Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and interpersonal;
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships within all departments;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • High change agility to adjust to business needs;
  • High levels of customer-service skills, including a compassionate and caring attitude;
  • Strong computer skills, including the use of Outlook, Word, Excel, and database management
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED (but not required):
  • Project management experience
  • Marketing experience
  • Event coordination experience
  • University admissions experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:Accomplished skills in typing, word processing, and spreadsheet management. Familiarity with Outlook and other Microsoft software preferred.

REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
