Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator provides high-level IT support by planning, configuring, maintaining, and overseeing technological infrastructure on the property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages service calls by reporting, researching, diagnosing, and resolving problems to system and network infrastructure
  • Reviews and monitors all servers and their related hardware and software to ensure reliable operation
  • Prepares system backups for failures and escalates when necessary
  • Provides maintenance of personal computers, laptops, and other computer equipment
  • Creates and maintains user and email accounts as well as their related permissions
  • Configures, tests, and maintains advanced IT systems, such as LAN/WAN circuits and equipment, wireless access points, business applications, etc.
  • Compiles and presents electronically generated reports regarding accounting and financial systems
  • Maintains the facility's internal phone system by installing hardware and setting up new user accounts
  • Utilizes project management skills to develop and implement detailed plans and monitor progress on a regular basis
  • Trains staff in the use of new or changed systems and educates users to reduce recurring issues
  • Implements and tests various network disaster recovery and failover scenarios
  • Analyzes management needs regarding IT systems and recommends solutions to business problems

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal/written communication as well as interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries, complaints, or service requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software and web applications as well as system hardware

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field
  • Three to five years of work experience in information technology or related field
  • Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee may be required to have specific vision abilities (i.e., color vision).
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • The employee may be exposed to smoke when on the floor of the gaming room.
