Job Description Summary

Top traits of an MES Service Team Member: Are you mechanically inclined, tech-savvy, customer-focused, organized and motivated by money? We have just the position for you. Municipal Emergency Services (MES) is looking for a service technician to travel (in a company van) to various Fire Departments in the region to perform testing and maintenance on Rescue Tools, Hydraulic Rescue Tools, etc. We will get you trained and certified.

This is a full-time position with full benefits and the potential to earn significant commissions.

MES is the Nation's largest suppliers of Rescue Tools, personal protective equipment, law enforcement products, and services to the first responder market.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Equipment Inspection: Perform routine inspections and functional checks of equipment to verify their readiness and compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on related equipment, replacing worn or damaged components to ensure proper functionality.
  • Testing: Conduct tests on units, such as pressure tests, airflow tests, and leak tests, to verify that they meet or exceed manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all inspection, maintenance, and repair activities, including equipment condition, parts replaced, and testing results.
  • Calibration: Calibrate and adjust equipment to ensure accurate readings and safe operation.
  • Inventory Management: Manage spare parts and replacement components inventory, ensuring adequate stock for repairs and maintenance.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers and end-users, addressing their concerns and assisting with equipment-related issues.



Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Attention to detail is critical, this is life-saving essential equipment for Firefighters
  • Work remotely and maintain a valid driver's license (REAL-ID is required to work in Federal sites
  • Good computer skills are essential
  • Service Technicians must be willing to travel and stay overnight at hotels for remote or large jobs
  • Be mechanically inclined
  • Ability to lift items, packages, and containers weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma/GED

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience servicing and, small engine repair, firefighting equipment, work as a mechanic, or previous experience with hydraulics.

Experience in servicing and maintaining the following is preferred:
  • Small engine repair
  • Firefighting equipment
  • Hydraulics
  • Vehicles

Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:
  • Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Field Service Technician: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Fire and Rescue Experience (preferred)

License/Certification:
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • REAL-ID is required to work in Federal sites

Physical Requirements:
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 60 lbs.) are required.
