Location: Sioux City, IA. This position is a full-time IT leadership role within the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino property.

Job Summary

The IT Manager oversees all aspects of the facilitys computer and telephone systems, including the respective networks, hardware, and software, while managing IT personnel.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assists with the hiring, training, development and supervision of IT department staff
  • Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments as well as trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff
  • Establishes department standards, guidelines and objectives, and maintains other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas
  • Manages all computer and telephone systems to ensure their successful performance and maintenance in support of the facilitys operations
  • Performs routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on all supported equipment at the facility to identify potential problems and coordinate necessary repairs
  • Works with other department leaders and their teams to meet their technological needs as well as ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with regulations
  • Assumes responsibility for the maintenance of data-related security controls to ensure authorized access to the facilitys technological systems
  • Maintains inventory on all IT-related equipment, such as computer tapes, disks, and other storage media, and recommends purchase decisions to other department leaders
  • Prepares system reports and maintains department documentation of systems and procedures to maintain the integrity of the facilitys operational computer and telephone systems
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills And Abilities
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to manage a team
  • Excellent verbal/written communication as well as interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries, complaints, or service requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software and web applications as well as system hardware

Education And Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field
  • Two to four years of work experience in information technology or related field
  • Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Frequent sitting or standing; use of hands to handle objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear
  • May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud
  • May be exposed to smoke when on the gaming floor
