Our Sioux City Water Treatment Plant is seeking an enthusiastic, self-directed Water Plant Operator-in-Training to work under general direction of the Water Plant Manager. The individual will learn to operate and maintain the Water Treatment Plants and associated facilities. Required: must possess a valid driver's license. Within 18 months of appointment a certification by the State of Iowa as a Grade 1 Water Treatment and Distribution Operator is required. Within 3 years of appointment a certification by the State of Iowa as a Grade II Water Treatment and Distribution Operator is required. Normal work hours will be Monday -Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This position will also be required to work afternoon (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM) shifts and graveyard shifts (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) as assigned during training.
