Description:

St. Michael's School, a PK-8 Catholic School in South Sioux City, NE, is accepting applications for a Physical Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, encourage student engagement and academic growth while supporting students socially, emotionally, and spiritually. This role involves planning and implementing lessons aligned with NE Physical Education/Health standards, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Duties

* Develop and implement engaging physical education lesson plans.

* Assess student performance and provide feedback to students and parents.

* Support students with special needs by adapting lessons and providing individualized instruction.

* Collaborate with administration to align teaching practices with school goals.

* Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and respectful learning environment.

* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Education or be able to obtain a valid Nebraska teaching certificate with an elementary or physical education endorsement.

* Experience in lesson planning and classroom management is highly desirable.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

* A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that meets the needs of all learners.

* Previous experience in a private school setting is advantageous but not required.
