Thompson Solutions Group, one of the Midwest's leading electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and technology contractors, is looking for a Mechanical BIM Designer to join their innovative team in Sioux City, IA.

As a Mechanical BIM Designer, you will blend technical design with precise BIM modeling to bring construction projects to life. You'll be a vital part of the design team, driving smart, efficient solutions that keep projects on time, on budget, and built to the highest standards.

Position Responsibilities:
• Create accurate BIM models of mechanical systems following established standards and procedures
• Collaborate with project managers to produce prefabrication drawings and assist with submittal documentation
• Use laser scanning and Autodesk Revit to create building models, perform clash detection, and conduct visual walk-throughs with Navisworks
• Mark HVAC system locations on-site using a total station for precise installation
• Communicate design concepts effectively through visualization, graphics, and presentations, supporting all project phases from design to close-out

Position Requirements:
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience using Autodesk software (Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks), Bluebeam, and related design tools
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and components
• Strong 3D visualization skillset to effectively model and interpret construction projects, with ability to develop detailed plan sets for client delivery
• Experience with mechanical prefabrication software such as PractiRev is preferred but not required
