Job Description
The Dairy Procurement Analyst will be an instrumental part of the dairy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining data used for category development, team KPIs, and shared tools to help the dairy team be best in class. Partnering with Procurement Specialists, Category Managers, Finance Business Partners, and the team's Director this position will work to deliver cost savings ideation, data driven vendor management and the development/implementation of sourcing strategies. As part of these efforts, the candidate will work cross-functionally for data generation and will be given opportunities to present findings and ideas to senior leaders within the organization. The best decisions are made with a clear evaluation and a plan that is measured. This position will work to promote that mindset.
- Lead financial planning and analysis for dairy commodity procurement activities.
- Develop and execute financial strategies to enhance profitability and manage risks.
- Conduct market research and analysis to forecast commodity prices and trends.
- Analyze federal order milk pooling strategies to optimize financial outcomes
- Track dairy purchase price variance related to commodity prices and implement price risk management offsets.
- Assure adherence to procurement and risk management policies.
- Develop and track dairy procurement key performance measures. Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business objectives. Ensure adherence to financial regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or certification preferred.
- At least 6 years of experience in financial management within the dairy industry.
- In-depth knowledge of dairy commodity markets, federal order analysis, and trading practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of procurement, vendor management and contract management.
- Experience with dairy commodities and dairy market insights a plus
- Microsoft Office with extremely strong excel skills. Proficiency in tableau, Oracle, predictive analytics, and/or machine learning a plus.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality and ability to see trends both historical and future.
- Strong communicator, able to simplify data into digestible content for stakeholders and cross-functional colleagues.
- Must be able to translate various needs / requests into actionable data.
- Organizational skills, candidate must be able to prioritize work and deliver expected results.
- The ideal candidate should be a self-starter that is not afraid to try.
- They should enjoy working with others and challenge the status quo to strengthen the dairy team's value to the business.
